Intro Blog: A New Chapter

Hello! My name is Joshua Newell, and welcome back to my blog! I was eager to start working on our final project after the last music video's success. For this project, we had to make a 2-minute video that would play at the start of a movie. We are provided with a far wider variety of concepts to work with than we were with the previous assignment. We will be able to develop something fully on our own, allowing for unlimited ideas and possibilities, rather than adhering to other institutions and procedures. We are not just prepared for this endeavor, but we also have some ideas in mind on how to get started. However, I am ready to once again feel every emotion associated with a project. The video we must develop must have a sense of continuity based on the time we have because the video is meant to end on a cliffhanger. We need to think creatively and acquire the necessary skills because this is something completely unique. Compared to the first project we completed, the most recent one presented me with fresh challenges, and I absolutely loved it. I participated in practically all of the project's activities rather than focusing on just one, which helped me get a sense of what I liked and don't like. I came to the conclusion that I do enjoy acting. Instead of just directing the scene, I have more control over how it is constructed because I am an actor. It was enjoyable to be a part of the process even though the music video didn't call for any A-list acting, and I hope to take a more direct approach to that in this project. I've chosen to challenge myself because this is the last assignment of the year and I want to finish the year strong. The objective of this video is to break the mold and aim for a mark of B+ or higher on the Cambridge exam rather than just being good enough for an E or C. That could be a little challenging for me given my current abilities. As several new, award-winning films have been released since the year's beginning, I am also eager to delve deeper into the movie and film component of AICE Media Studies.
